Vitrine holds Health and Safety as a core business value and is committed to creating a future free from incidents and injuries.
We operate an Incident and Injury Free policy and are committed to realizing this throughout the company. This philosophy reaches every part of the company’s operations and extends to all operatives, subcontractors and suppliers.
We have an ongoing training and assessment programme to ensure that all staff have a high level of safety training and awareness.
- All operatives have completed the appropriate training courses for their specific job roll.
- Our supervisory staff have attended the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
The objective of the SMSTS is to develop awareness and competence to manage safety effectively in compliance with company policy and the current H&S legislation.
In order to convey to our Clients that we hold Health and Safety is high regard, Vitrine has applied for membership from the most recognised organisations that our Clients know and trust. As such our Clients can rest assured with the knowledge that our Health and Safety standards are constantly being reviewed by Third Parties.

CHAS – (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme)
The Contractors Health and Safety Scheme has been devised to give Procurement Departments peace of mind when hiring specialist contractors. The Chas accreditation assesses Vitrine’s Health and Safety Policies and standards. Vitrine’s Clients therefore know that Health and Safety is taken seriously by the company and that any work undertaken will be performed in a safe manner, ensuring the safety of not only our own employees but those working around and with us.
CSCS – (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme was set up to help the Construction Industry to improve quality and reduce accidents. After performing a Health and Safety Test and providing proof of any qualifications that each individual holds, a CSCS card is issued. The CSCS card has increasingly become the default proof of occupational competence and is required by an increasing number of contractors, public and private clients.
Vitrine Systems Limited is proud to have 90% of its work force CSCS qualified. Why not 100% you may ask? Well, the remaining 10% of the company is office bound and therefore do not need to qualify.
SAFE Contractor – (The Health and Safety Assessment Scheme)
Safe Contractor is a highly regarded health and safety accreditation scheme which is becoming increasingly sought after by Contractors and Clients alike. The scheme is dedicated to promoting higher standards of competence and compliance. Vitrine has been through a specific and tailor made health and safety assessment applicable to the Glazing Industry.
An accreditation from the Safe Contractor Scheme means that Vitrine Systems has been found to be a competent company, giving our Client’s peace of mind.
SOCOTEC Risk Management
Here at Vitrine, we like to go the extra mile when it comes to Health and Safety. That’s why, despite qualifying for membership of various Health and Safety Schemes, we have contracted a Third Party Health and Safety Management Company to regularly inspect our works. SOCOTEC come and visit our sites and check that all works are being carried out in a safe manner, if anything is amiss it is reported and corrected immediately, this includes the works of the main contractor or other contractors working around us. If unsafe practices are being carried out in the area of our works which put our employees and others at risk, it is raised immediately and corrected.
At Vitrine, we believe that everyone has the right to return home safely at the end of the day and be returned to their families in the same condition as when they closed the front door that morning.
