Wimpole Street Gallery

Vitrine Systems successfully completed the Stair Glazing to the Wimpole Street Project for Mansell Construction. The building, newly acquired by the Howard De Walden Estate underwent a complete renovation from top to bottom in order to covert the property into commercial office space. As part of the design a continuous glass screen was required to span up between the staircases for all four floors. Vitrine created a bespoke solution which allowed the glass to be installed in the 90mm space that was available between the stair strings. With the stairs also acting as the only access between floors during the renovation, close coordination with Mansell was required in order to ensure the project could still operate normally whilst ensuring that the works could continue without causing any health and safety issues. Upon successful completion of the project Vitrine were additionally awarded the Terrace Screen, using the Crittal Window system and also designed a further glass balustrade to the internal mezzanine.
